The addition of an intersecting East-West canal could allow access through the canal network to [[Geography#Nye Lake|Nye]] and [[Geography#Clinton Lake|Clinton]] Lakes.
Height differences prevent them from being one body of water, but in combination with good transfer points
and [[Circumlacustrine roads]] could provide the transportation within the core of the world.

Along with some extensions to the North-South canal, it should be easy for new bases to be built along the canals
or lakes.

== Route ==

The western route to Clinton will require some tunnelling, a route that will have nearly the shortest possible
tunnel is currently marked with torches.
